Kaiser Care Packages
Full Prenatal + Postpartum Support
Through Kaiser’s Doula Program, you receive: 1 initial visit (90 minutes), up to 8 additional prenatal/postpartum visits, labor & birth support, and up to two extended 3-hour postpartum visits. Visits are 60 mins.
■ Prenatal Visits
Birth preferences, partner roles, and postpartum planning.
■ Birth Support
Continuous labor support, comfort techniques, advocacy. (Birth support is reserved for full-package
clients.)
■ Postpartum Visits
Emotional support, newborn care guidance, family support, household support, postpartum recovery
measures.
■ Non-Covered Services
Clinical or medical services (blood pressure checks, fetal heart tone checks, vaginal exams),assistance with activities of daily living, aromatherapy, childbirth education, massage therapy, placenta encapsulation, yoga, birthing ceremonies, over-the-counter supplies, home birth, belly binding,maternal/infant massage, photography, vaginal steams, group baby-wearing classes.
■ Member Eligibility
Members must be enrolled in a Kaiser Permanente Commercial on the date of service. Doulas must verify member enrollment with Kaiser Permanente.
Postpartum-Only Support
If you only need or prefer postpartum care, Kaiser allows you to use your benefits for: 1 initial visit (90 minutes), up to 8 additional visits, and up to two extended 3-hour postpartum visits. Visits are 60 mins each.
■ Postpartum Visit Focus
Each visit may include emotional support & birth processing, newborn care guidance (feeding, soothing, diapering, safe sleep, babywearing), family support (sibling adjustment, resources, education), household support (light meal prep, laundry, tidying), and postpartum recovery planning.
■ Non-Covered Services
Clinical or medical services (blood pressure checks, fetal heart tone checks, vaginal exams), assistance with activities of daily living, aromatherapy, childbirth education, massage therapy, placenta encapsulation, yoga, birthing ceremonies, over-the-counter supplies, home birth, belly binding, maternal/infant massage, photography, vaginal steams, group baby-wearing classes.
■ Member Eligibility
Members must be enrolled in a Kaiser Permanente Commercial or Medi-Cal health plan on the date of service. Doulas must verify member enrollment with Kaiser Permanente for each month of service.
